On 24th February, 2025, Envision Greenwise Holdings Limited ("Envision Greenwise") and Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd (“Gotion High-tech”) formally entered into a strategic framework agreement ("Agreement"), under which the two companies will continue to promote in-depth cooperation in the areas of battery recycling, after-sale service system, global battery materials trading, low carbon research, etc., and work together to realise the full life-cycle management of the battery industry, contributing to the practice of global green energy.

Dating back to 19th February 2024, Envision Greenwise announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with  Hefei Gotion High-tech Power Energy Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gotion High-tech Co., Ltd.. Both parties will jointly develop and promote energy storage and reverse logistics business (e.g. battery recycle). The signing of the Agreement marks a key breakthrough for both parties in deepening the battery resource recycling industry chain, and will provide a new model for the development of the global green energy industry.

According to the Agreement, Envision Greenwise and Gotion High-tech will cooperate in four major fields:
1. Building Battery Recycling and After-sales Services System
The parties will leverage the global network of Envision Greenwise and the technical support of Gotion High-tech, to comprehensively enhance the global service coverage and plan to expand the scale of cooperation to 100 service points around the world.

2. Establishing Global Battery Material Trade Centers
The parties will take Hong Kong and Singapore as pilot base to facilitate the international circulation and supply of batteries, components, and related equipment, ensuring the operation of a green supply chain.

3. Setting up the Demonstration Site for Battery Cascade Utilization
The parties will jointly build a demonstration site for battery cascade utilization at the Hong Kong's  First EV Battery Processing Plant located in EcoPark, Hong Kong, showcasing advancements in battery recycling, remanufacturing, and reuse, as well as providing practical operation scenario for the environmental protection industry.

4. Establishing the Low Carbon Research Institute and Battery Passport System
Relying on the previously jointly established Gotion EVS Greenwise Low Carbon Research Institute, the parties will initiate a pilot project of a fully closed-loop batter project in Hong Kong,  including but not limited to single restricted substances, carbon footprint, supply chain due diligence, battery passport, etc.

After decades of development, the power batteries of new energy vehicle have entered a large-scale retirement phase, and it is particularly significant for the industry to improve the recycling system of EV batteries for its sustainable development. The signing coincided with the approval of the Action Plan for Improving the Recycling System of New Energy Vehicle Power Batteries on 21 February, which emphasises the establishment of a standardised, safe and efficient recycling system, and the implementation of digital technology to strengthen the monitoring of the full lifecycle flow of power batteries, to achieve the traceability of whole process of production, sale, dismantling and utilisation. This time, Envision Greenwise joins hands with Gotion High-tech, which is to actively respond to the policy call and global electrification trend with an innovative mode of cooperation. Both parties will fully demonstrate their leading role in the industry and jointly promote the standard development of the power battery recycling industry, setting a model for the industry in the future.
