The Chief Executive’s 2026 Policy Address notes that the Government is vigorously promoting the popularization of electric vehicles (EVs). With the number of EVs currently exceeding 180,000, the Government will continue to make high-speed charging points the backbone of the public charging network, with a target of increasing their number to 5,000 within five years, supporting an additional 250,000 EVs. This month, Builders Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of Envision Greenwise Holdings Limited (01783.HK), officially commenced the “EV-charging at Home Subsidy Scheme” (EHSS) at Sea Crest Villa in Sham Tseng. This is the Group’s tenth EHSS-related project, marking a new milestone in the Group’s business expansion in the EV charging infrastructure sector.
The Sea Crest Villa project covers 171 parking spaces and will see a brand-new charging network installed for the estate, meeting residents’ daily EV charging needs. Drawing on its practical experience from a number of similar projects in the past, the team will adjust the construction schedule in accordance with the actual site environment. The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.
Since it began undertaking EHSS works, Builders Co. Ltd. has launched EV charging projects at several residential estates across districts throughout Hong Kong, including Kingswood Villas, Lido Garden, Jasper Court in Yuen Long, Coral Court in North Point and Meadowlands in Yuen Long, covering several thousand parking spaces in total. Among these, the Kingswood Villas project is particularly notable — the estate comprises 58 blocks with a total of 15,880 units, making it the private residential estate with the largest number of units in Hong Kong. The project covers the infrastructure development of nearly 2,300 parking spaces, making it a project of great demonstrative significance.
Ms. Kwok Ho Yee, the Chief Operating Officer of Envision Greenwise Group, said that the Group has focused on the new energy sector in recent years, vigorously developing businesses such as the construction of EV charging networks and the recycling of power batteries, and that these initiatives have achieved phased results. Going forward, the Group will actively support the Government’s efforts to build a green and liveable city, continue to expand its charging infrastructure business, promote the popularisation of EVs in Hong Kong, and help Hong Kong move towards a zero-carbon future.
